Small Bowel Enteroscopy

A small bowel enteroscopy is a test that allows a physician to navigate deep into the small bowel. It assesses gastrointestinal bleeding, small bowel tumors, polyps and other concerns. The doctor utilizes an endoscope to inspect the duodenum, which is the first portion of the small bowel, and the jejunum, the middle part of the small bowel. The esophagus and stomach will also be probed. Additionally, enteroscopy can be a therapeutic technique to treat disorders such as bleeding.
